AAFDA needs your help …. 29th May 2018 May I invite you to please consider responding to the Government consultation online, there are two questions where you could help AAFDA if you think we have been helpful to you. Here’s the link to access the consultation. https://consult.justice.gov.uk/homeoffice-moj/domestic-abuse-consultation/ Q10. In the section called – Improving support services for all victims of domestic abuse and their children – there is a box called ‘Other’ which allows you to put in words of your own typing. The question probably relates to current victims of domestic abuse but I always think that includes us because we are bound up in it. So we need services too and specialist and expert advocacy is a service and it can help get other services. Q63. In the section called – Learning from Domestic Homicide Reviews – you can type in here anything you wish. Even though the question relates to learning from DHRs, specialist and expert advocacy for families would make learning from DHRs more likely to happen. Thank you for considering this. AAFDA will be very grateful.
